Traveling From Colorado to Florida

First, I have to thank my mom.  She was my sanity.  She was my driving partner.  She was my entertainment.  She was my companion.  She made this trip possible and tolerable.  She is an amazing mom and a great friend.  THANK YOU MOM for enduring 8 days and 7 nights on the road with me, two kiddos and a dog.  I love you!!

We had plans.  Not a lot, but a few and winged the rest.  I did have plans to take lots of pictures but after getting into Kansas City the first night after midnight and getting up to hit the road the next day...yep, the camera was the last thought on my mind...but I did get some.

Here they are...

Sad Day....

So Glad Grammy was with us....
To get our leaving Colorful Colorado sign we kind of had to break the law...although Mom was convinced we weren't. I mad her drive back through this barricaded area onto the correct portion of the road.  I was sure we were going to get a ticket...

Kansas stop...6 footed cow.  Confirmed with the owner that this is rare and a genetic defect.  Doesn't hurt them and more expensive to remove than the beef is worth.

 GRANT'S FARM, ST. LOUIS, MO

These goats had insatiable appetites.

and were not afraid to show it....

The heat and humidity were oppressive....time to cool off!!

sharing :-) and still trying to cool off!!

American Symbol of pride.  Only able to get this incredible shot because they no longer fly.  It was amazing to see was so close.

Uncle Walter...we love this guy!

orneriness abounds....

St. LOUIS CITY MUSEUM

We did not spend nearly enough time here.  It was also hard to capture pictures with the constant winding, turning, climbing, sliding, etc... and to top it off La came down with a crazy headache.  This is a great place to let kids and adults just play..

HaHa...the inside door knob didn't work...she was stuck :-)!

GATEWAY ARCH, St. LOUIS, MO

Girl Loves her critters...

CRATER of DIAMONDS STATE PARK, AR

This was Boo's one requested stop.  He has wanted to come to this dirt place for about two years.  Although we didn't find a diamond, he will always remember it.  It was another oh my goodness stifling day.

We made a few more stops after Arkansas.  We stopped in New Orleans.  That was educational, not in a good way, in and of itself. Didn't dare take my good camera out, but snapped a few cell phone pics that I still haven't downloaded.  We stopped in Tallahassee and then arrived in our destination --- 7 nights after we left Colorado, we now call Florida home...
