Happy 9th Birthday Boo La!

Nine years ago today God blessed me beyond measure when he brought one big boy (6lb 15 oz) and one tiny girl (5lb 3oz) into my world.  From day one you have captured your mommy and daddy's hearts.  You both are wild and crazy at times, but that pales in comparison to the love and tenderness you have.  You orneriness comes honestly :-)!  These two amazing kids are still each other's best friend.  They both love to learn, read, write, and create with almost anything.  They are full of life and are growing into even more amazing individuals.  I love you both whole heartedly.

A lot of pictures from our many birthday adventures...
Ms. Celine...I don't know if this present will ever be topped.  Nothing could be more appropriate and perfect for my notebook loving kids.  (the K-Love...makes it even better)

The 29th is my brother's birthday.  His choice lunch was Rodizio Grill.

Grammy love!!

For several years, Boo La have woken up to a surprise.  This is this years surprise...

My 9 year old amazing girl.  Note her head dress...she picked it and wore it a good portion of the day!  LOVE HER!!

My 9 year old amazing boy!! He thought the streamers were a well thought out and difficult maze.  Boo you give your mommy too much credit or your imagination is just that good!  LOVE HIM!!

My this maze is hard to get through :-)

Poor Sasha!

Best boy card ever (so mad that the picture of his great big smile right after reading this didn't turn out) It says fill in the blanks...he said I know what it is mom, "it says Happy Birthday", but the blanks filled in as hairy buttocks!  Boy humor..

9 pancakes.....my poor kids didn't really get birthday cake and candles this year, but they wouldn't trade any moment of their 9th birthday for it either.

The beginning of the loot from Boondocks
The loot from Boondocks...thanks Uncle Walter and Grammy for the help with the tickets.

Wadded up toilet paper when she stays the night at Uncle Walter's means an endless joke for her.  Initial wrapping in toilet paper.  Do you see those ornery eyes??

Hasn't anyone taught this boy better ......

THIS BOY........

Melts me....

Uncle Walter opening his card/present!

We headed out to Uncle Walter's friends ranch.  La was in HEAVEN.  Horses every where!

This little one liked to nibble...

Mama Horse teaching.....

baby to trot ... very cool to watch!

La's looks so natural.  No fear.  All Love.

Not weaned yet...so sweet!

These awkward legs crack me up

When the train went by and blared the horn, these three ran a bit and turned their backs to the tracks!

His happy spot...climbing

Getting ready to ride!

This giddy smile and pure bliss on her melts me.  She loves animals!

She is off and for future birthdays, this probably can't be topped.

climbing in crocs again....uh oh

Mom, do you think I could jump?

No fear...one would think falling from 8-10 feet not long ago would have put a healthy dose of fear in him...nope, not him!

trotting!

And there's that smile again.....La, you melt me!

Chore time...which they volunteered to help with ... These kids are truly amazing!!

Even volunteered to pick up horse apples...happily and eagerly volunteered !
There was a field with rolled hay that I wanted to stop for some pics...didn't get exactly what I wanted, but here are some....

This was my brother's picture...impressive!!

I'm not sure why, but I love this picture.  Another brother picture, and you can only see my arm behind La, but La's face and Boo heading off in a full run and Gary just walking....It all screams my family and I LOVE IT!

WINDY!!

Last birthday stop....Our good friends wanted to give them their gifts on their birthday and let them finally see /hold the bearded dragons. I fully expect both of them to start asking for one.

There's that smile again.....it's an animal, well reptile, but all the same.  Her love only increases ...
Two days after their actual birthday, we did a birthday/farewell celebration (our time in Colorado was supposed to end August 9, but it has been pushed back to the 30th now).  Here are a few pics from Thursday, August 1st.

First ones on the slide....

oops!

some how I didn't get Boo on the slide at all...

The aftermath cleanup...after 60+ people filter in and out, mostly kids, it is quite a chore to clean after, but once again these kiddos rose to the occasion.
Working hard to clean up all the decorative confetti....what was I thinking!!

To my two Nine year olds...You are amazing, God Loving, God fearing kids and I love you for it.  Your sweet smiles melt me.  Your adventurous spirit, quick wit and expansive minds keep me on my toes.   Your desire to still snuggle/cuddle and just play as a family is truly something I treasure.  I can't wait to see what two 9 year olds have in store for me this year.  I love you to the moon and back...around the sun a few hundred times and back....You both are amazing gifts I thank God for daily.
